গীতার প্রশস্তি

गीता सुगीता कर्त्तव्या किमन्यैः शास्त्रविस्तरैः ।
या स्वयं पद्मनाभस्य मुखपद्माद्विनिःसृता ॥1॥

যে গীতা সাক্ষাৎ (পদ্মনাভ) ভগবান্‌ শ্রীকৃষ্ণের মুখপদ্ম হইতে নিঃসৃতা, তাহা উত্তমরূপে পাঠ করা কর্তব্য; অন্যান্য অধিক শাস্ত্রপাঠের প্রয়োজন কি ? ১

This divine song (Gita) which emanated from the holy lotus mouth of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna Himself, should be regularly sung with devotion. What is the need of studying other scriptures ? (1)

सर्वशास्त्रमयी गीता सर्वदेवमयो हरी: ।
सर्वतीर्थमयी गंगा सर्ववेदमयो मनु: ॥2॥

গীতা সর্বশাস্ত্রময়ী, হরি (গোবিন্দ) সর্বদেবস্বরূপ, গঙ্গা সর্বতীর্থময়ী এবং গায়ত্রীমন্ত্র (মনু) সর্ববেদময় । ২

Gita embodies all the Shastras, Shri Hari personifies all the Gods, Ganga assimilates all the sacred places and Gayatri (Manu) compiles all the Vedas. (2)

गीता गंगा च गायत्री गोविन्देति हृदि स्थिते है ।
चतुर्गकारसंयुको पुनर्जन्म न विद्यते ॥3॥

গকারসংযুক্ত যুক্ত গীতা, গঙ্গা, গায়ত্রী ও গোবিন্দ – এই চারিটি যাঁহার হৃদয়ে অবস্থিত হন, তাঁহার আর পুনর্জন্ম হয় না । ৩

The one, in whose heart the four G's - Gita, Ganga, Gayatri and Govinda reside, will never take rebirth. (3)

गीताधीता च येनापि भक्तिभावेन चेतसा ।
वेदशास्त्रपुराणानि तेनाधीतानि सर्व्वशः ॥4॥

ভক্তিপূর্ণ চিত্তে যিনি গীতাপাঠ করেন, তিনি বেদ, পুরাণ প্রভৃতি সর্বশাস্ত্রের সারমর্ম অবগত হন । ৪

One who studies the Gita with devotion, knows the essence of all the scriptures like  Vedas and Puranas. (4)
